I would like to refinish my Oak floors which finish would be better a water base or Oil base finish.

See above question, which will give me the harder finish and will last the longest ? I am getting different opinions from contractors.

Either product will give you a great finish, both in terms of longevity and durability. Water based finishes have improved tremendously over the past 5 years, and are much more friendly to work with. As long as you use a high quality product of either type, it will produce good results.
