Painted deck is bubbling in heat and if bubble is popped, there is a sticky substance like honey.Help
Previous owner painted deck, I noticed in the heat there are bubbles that when popped have a substance similar to honey. Just in certain areas, not all over the deck. Paint is a red/orange color and the deck appears to be wood.
I suspect the bubbling is actually sap that is coming out of the wood. There isn't much you can do to stop it - eventually it should subside, although new areas may develop over time. The sap bubbles can be scraped and sanded if need be, and eventually you can repaint the deck.
