Garage door opener works with wired button but not remote after a lightening strike?

I have tried reprogramming remotes. Unplugging unit and plugging back in. There are no flashes on diagnostic lights. Everything seems to work, except remotes will not open. I have 2 openers and they both have these same symptoms. Would you suggest replacing logic board?

It could be a problem with the signal receiver on the logic board. But, considering the price of most replacement boards it might be a good idea to try a fresh battery in a remote or any keyless entry and then try reprogramming that transmitter again just to be sure.

On most Craftsman model you can also use the information in the first image below to reset or erase the opener memory which might also help. Just be aware you will need to reprogram in each remote and any keyless entry after the memory is cleared in that way.

Also check if your model has any kind of ?vacation" or "lock" mode or feature that might have been engaged to lock out the remotes temporarily. Often those have a switch or small LED indicator light near the wall button itself. For many models the information in the third image below might help with that.

Your Owner's Manual should provide more details specific to your model and many manuals can be found online at Manage My Home using the model number off the decal on the overhead unit. For most Craftsman models the number will be the one that starts in a 139 prefix.

If there is no feature engaged, and everything works normally from the wall button but the remotes and any keyless entry do not work at all, then the logic board may need replacing to return remote operation to normal. But, again, I would recommend rechecking all other options and try reprogramming again and even consider consulting a professional for confirmation in-person before committing to the expense of a new board.
