Is it safe to use my electric range?
I have a Sears Kenmore electric range model #911.93301. Inside the oven cavity at the back where vertical panel meets horizontal panel, the porcelain is chipping off and there is rust. Affected area measures about 1 inch by 3 inches. Is it safe to use the oven?
The small porcelain chip and rust area is not a safety issue, as long as there no is hole rusted through oven wall. I would monitor the rust area periodically to make sure it does not develop and hole, causing a potential safety hazard.
